More traffic for your blog with the follow button

We’ve written before about our efforts at WordPress.com to help you get more attention for your work. And we’re here again with a new feature: follow.

After weeks of experimentation with different designs, locations and names, we’ve determined the addition of a small, cute, little button at the bottom of your blog will dramatically help pageviews and retention.

Starting today, on all blogs, whenever someone who is not logged into WordPress.com visits, they’ll see this small little button in the bottom right corner. The button is mostly out of the way, but just noticeable enough before people leave.

And when a visitor clicks on the button, it smoothly slides open, revealing a simple way to follow the blog without having the burden of checking back on their own to see if there’s anything new. They can put their email address in, and will be notified whenever your blog has…

Through the Lens of a Swimmer

Most people assume that with privilege and status problems are erased, that because you appear flawless in the public eye that one’s private life is the same. Celebrities and icons throughout history are a prime example of this. There are plenty of iconic women throughout history, they have this incredible power to provoke positive memories and perceptions of their lives, but nobody is perfect.

One of my greatest inspirations was Aaron Nace and his project on stereotypes. He would transform himself into each character and bring the stereotypes that people associate with them to the forefront of the image.

His project inspired me to look beyond the superficial layer that people always think about. His highlight of the socially obvious made me want to uncover the darkness that these people hide, who they truly are.

Dear Jesus,

When I open my Bible, I read you LOVE me and have loved me since the beginning of time.  It tells me that you love me so much, you died for me just so I would have the choice of accepting or rejecting you.  This fact alone is mind blowing!  What kind of love is this that would count a human, not yet born, as worthy?

I have known you and loved you since I was a teenager.  As a teenager I promised to give you my whole being, my heart and my soul.  In turn you promised to guide me, lead me, walk with me and prepare a home for me in heaven.  We have a wonderfully, amazing and loving relationship.
